Julie is a barrister and has practised in family law since 2000. She is a qualified family law Arbitrator and a qualified (but non-practising) family Mediator. She sits part time as a Recorder in private and public family law, and part time as a Tribunal Judge dealing with Special Educational Needs. This breadth and depth of experience in children law provides a strong foundation for her Arbitral Decisions.
She qualified as an Arbitrator in 2014. She is keen to encourage litigants and potential litigants to investigate this method of dispute resolution primarily because the simplified system is usually less emotionally taxing for all involved, but also because of the benefits of speed and convenience, and the significant savings in costs.
Julie is much sought after for the experience, skill and care that she brings to proceedings. Her preparation is meticulous. She remains calm under pressure and is a down to earth, friendly and reassuring presence. Her style is practical and focused on finding solutions.
Julie is very experienced in all matters relating to child arrangements including international relocation, education, applications involving wider family (eg grandparent applications) and difficult parental alienation cases.
